Can’t touch this. Nokia S60 Touch Interface finally presented.
Posted October 16th, 2007 in Mobile Phones
Symbian Smartphone Show today brought us the S60 Touch Interface presantation by Nokia. It accepts both types of input — with stilus, or just by finger. Also the press release is out, and you can find both the video and more data about the S60 software below the link.
- Existing S60 3rd Edition apps will run on touch-enabled devices unmodified (but can be further enhanced);
- generic proximity and light sensors supported;
- a UI Accelerator Toolkit enables “impressive” graphical effects;
- and Flash Video will be supported in the S60 web browser.
It’ll be at S60 device manufacturers “during 2008.” Looks like it was written by someone who has a bit more information than I had this morning.
